My Manager has just assigned me the task of adding internet connectivity to our series of high pressure pumps and controllers. Typically we have connected these through an RS-485 daisy chain.  The expectation is to add networking in such a way that there is minimal hardware and software changes and  the boss wants a full demo in just a month.  Using my superior search skills aka Google, I found the Lantronix XPort device server and tried it out using their Evaluation Kit. XPort is powered by our DSTni network processor SoC, which includes a 10/100 MAC/PHY and 256 KB of SRAM. XPort has 512 KB of onmodule Flash for web pages and software upgrades.
